THE VACATIONER'S TRIP

If you want wilderness canoeing and a roof over your head each night, then this is the package for you. We guide you during daily trips on Theriau Lake and the Waterfound River, and then return you to the amenities of the Lodge each evening. Theriau Lake, an extremely sheltered lake, contains countless hidden bays and islands to explore. The Waterfound River exits Theriau Lake 1 kilometre from our Lodge, and flows through a series of channels, pools, tiny lakes and numerous sets of rapids. This is ideal canoeing for novice and intermediate canoeists.

THE WILDERNESS CRUISE

After staging at the Lodge, a floatplane delivers everyone along the upper Ward Creek. This easy, guided paddle down the Ward Creek passes through uninhabited wilderness from start to finish. The creek (a river by most standards) meanders through several small, unnamed lakes before reaching Forsyth Lake. The gentle current aides your travel through the spruce forests and glacial deposits. We sleep in tents, while meals are cooked on the open fire and on small stoves. A good initiation to wilderness canoeing.

THE WILDERNESS CHALLENGE

We land on the lower Ward Creek, and guide you for a week through Forsyth Lake to the Hawkrock River and down to Black Lake. Countless rapids, canyons and channels in the river lead northward as the river flows towards Black Lake. The Hawkrock River is a challenging river for even expert canoeists, yet can be conquered by novices also. Again, we sleep in tents and prepare our meals with the help of stoves and the campfire.
